LCCI unveils ICTEL EXPO 2017

Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) unveiled its upcoming ICT and Telecommunications expo tagged ICTEL Expo 2017.

The Expo which holds from 25th – 27th July, 2015 at the EKO Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos is aimed at exploring and promoting opportunities in the Nigerian IT industry which is touted to be one of the fastest growing industries in the world, attracting huge amounts of foreign investment and growth

This year’s event with the theme: The Digital economy - Strategies for growth in a connected world will bring together stakeholders responsible for digital strategy development, implementation and management of IT in organizations, academics, professionals, OEMs, equipment suppliers, telecoms operators, e-business operators, thought leaders and public sector.

The ICTEL Expo 2017, a professional trade show that draws attentions to ICT and Telecommunication industry was endorsed by several industry stakeholders including the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology & Nigeria Interbank Settlement Scheme (NIBSS).

In her remarks, Dr. (Mrs) Nike Akande, President of LCCI, said that the Information & Communication Technology sector has continued to drive entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable business models in Nigeria and beyond.

“Technology-backed service delivery and mobile payment solutions”, Dr. Akande said, “have transformed the way we do business today. The ICTEL Expo is a veritable platform to explore new technology possibilities and trends.

“The ICT sector can contribute more to our national development if the needed infrastructure and policies are in place. We urge the government and private sector to consider the model of Public-Private-Partnership to mobilize needed investments for necessary and critical infrastructure with government providing a conducive policy environment where ICT business can thrive”.

She also extended LCCI’s appreciation to various partners, sponsors and exhibitors whose contributions have sustained the Expo “and we look forward to more support for the 2017 ICTEL EXPO which has been scheduled for 25th to 27th of July, 2017 at the Eko Hotel and Suites”.

On his part, Mr. Sola Oyetayo, chairman, Trade Promotion Board, LCCI, said that the three-day Expo offers information, inspiration, innovation, optimal brand exposure and a platform for diverse business and investment opportunities.

Mr. Oyetayo said that there will also be conferences to address the current trends in the ICT sector and an overview of government policies and how business has been impacted by these policies.

“Best practices in ICT regulations would also form a critical part of the discourse at the various scheduled side-events during the EXPO”, he added.
